• You Have to Go is a conversation with the viewer about where form and function meet. The subjects are public bathrooms: spaces we all frequent, but where no one intends to linger. Most are built as cheaply and practically as possible, leaving little room for design. The project spans the United States as well as several countries in Europe and Asia. In depicting mundane and often unpleasant subjects, the series challenges the viewer to consider the role of the photographer in creating beauty.
