  • Blue Screen is able to be consumed and understood in a few moments. The monotony of life is unable to compete with the vibrant, ever changing curated world of Blue Screen. Here you do not need to read. There are generated text summaries. You no longer need to bore yourself, you can watch already brief videos at double speed. Blue Screen allows you to interchange the physical with the digital. Do not question the threshold of what constitutes lived experience.

Today work, play, socialization, news, shopping, and culture all flow endlessly from a device essential to modern life. Everyone is both accessible and able to access through a portal kept in hand at all times. To interact with physical places and people we must interface with technology in a new, inescapable, hybrid reality. This series explores how humans have entered into a collective dissociative state, and the systems constructed to exploit our numbed submission. With the average amount of time a day looking at a computer amounting to over seven hours, when one finally looks up nothing can be as real or engaging. Does a car windshield feel like it looks onto an actual highway, or is the glass separation just another screen? Framed by a window, the scenery seems like a dull version of a thousand video clips meant to be scrolled past after only a few seconds.

Blue Screen is a human created plane of nonexistence where every impulse, movement, and emotion is extracted and recorded. Blue Screen the photographic series asks the viewer what the creators of this technology never would, how is your existence being commodified?
